It really doesn't look like a good solution at all: The scoot sits way higher than needed for working on, and I cannot imagine a person single-handedly being able to push the scoot all the way up and securing it on center-stand without it toppling over.
It's not as good as a hydraulic ramp, but it is a good portable and cheap alternative (a LOT cheaper). The height may look deceiving from the video, but it is the perfect height for working on - it was designed by a scooterist, for scooterists. I can get scooters on/off single-handed, so it works. As i say - not the best on the market, but that is a cost-relevant factor.

Hi, a friend of mine is having problems with his 1966 Lambretta Li 150 Special. It has a 175cc top end up grade. He is using a Dellorto PHBH 30 carb with 128 main, 100 pilot, 250 Tap, AV262 Att, 30 slide and x7 needle. He claims it was run sweet before throttle cable broke and while he replaced said cable stripped carb to clean and replaced rubbers etc. The bike will not now run unless on full choke and when choke is turned off, it bogs down and dies and will not run. To start again needs full choke and a squirt easy start. The plug is wet and black. Should I follow your basic settings, as you don’t seem to mention a 150/175 in any of your various tuning descriptions? Thanks in advance for help.

Ive got a li 150 small block engine with a 175 top end kit and clubman exhaust, but its ok on a straight flat road but laggs realy bad and struggles even in second gear gettin up a hill, can you please tell me what is needed to sort this issue out any advice would me muxh appriciated. I got given a 2000 Vespa ET2 I’m currently restoring it and honestly it’s not bad at all for 24 years old the floor pan was very rusty but not rotten suprisingly I saved it! All ground back protected and stone chip painted ontop ready for its base coat next week they definitely don’t make them like that anymore. I see loads of Vespas that are like 6+ years old rotten already crazy!

Very interesting and very surprising! I used to match every kit I fitted, Vespa and Lambretta.
I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve been on a run and bits have fallen off scooters including tyres wile travelling on an A road . I wouldn’t fancy that at 70 plus miles an hour. Am at that age when it hurt if I bang my knee on the kitchen table never mind falling of a scooter .
My px has had a new CDI and stator, did the timing using a buzz wangle and strobe, it will idle but won’t rev. I swapped out the carbys and I had power, coming home today, it died coming down a hill. Started straight away but wouldn’t rev, what should I be looking for?

Hi Dan. I've just found this nearly four years on. I'm about to put together a VMC 240 with a SIP bell crank and Malossi reed, PHBH 28 and Vespatronic. All on mildly tuned PE casings (they're from MSC in the 80s, and were home to a Pinasco 225). From the video and comments, I get the imnpression that it is worth doing the work on a large frame Vespa engine, but maybe make 90% of the effort that I was going to. Any more recent thoughts or pointers? Thanks for the great content.

Nice kit, but really calling a Kelly ''the best controller on the market'' is a statement that will hurt you credibility in the DIY community. Kelly was the best 20 years ago. There are now much better and cheaper controllers on the market: 3Shul, Votol and Nanjing Drive to name only these.

That's a good starting point from which you can road-test and plug chop.
Hiya could you help. Ive rebuilt my standard 200 lambretta, phbh30 and a pm pipe. I'm just trying to find My base settings. Carb set up. Inlet 350 40 slide X7 needle on 2nd clip Av266 120 main 50 pilot 60 choke. Do you think I need to go x13, 55 pilot to start. What size main jet and needle clip would you recommend. Top videos BTW 👍
Start with 55p and 125m - other settings seem OK as a starting point. Do road tests and plug chops at varying throttle positions in order to refine.

You made a great point. The AREA of the transfer. Some are big; some not. consider the flow like a large swarm of people entering / egressing an event hall; with all it's twists and turns. sure removing a wall mounted extinguisher will help. Ditto prop the doors open. But outer radias obstruction or timber molding wont have effect; if there's a restriction due to the hall way width. A 2T engine is a fuel laden air pump. One of my riding mate’s scooters easily can do 100 mph - it’s a SSR 265. My tuned TS1 can pretty much sit at 80 mph for hours and acceleration is very good but to really keep up I need more power. My TS1 is probably about 28 hp, maybe 30. With shorter gearing it’s kind of a monster at acceleration but tours well on taller gearing.
I think 100 mph would do, and comfy cruising at 85 mph. I settle for 80 mph without very much more without holding the throttle wide open. Car traffic here routinely surpasses 100 mph.
